Mama Lampert's Marinated Grilled Flank Steak

Ingredients:

  • 4 cloves garlic

  • 4 onions, peeled and minced

  • 6 Tbsp ginger, peeled and minced

  • 1 Tbsp hot-pepper sauce (optional)

  • 1 1/4 cups soy sauce

  • 1 1/4 cups honey

  • 1/2 cup sesame oil

  • 1 cup canola oil

  • 12 lbs flank steak (about 5 steaks)

Steps:

  • Emulsify all the marinade ingredients in a blender or food processor. Put the beef in the marinade in plastic bags, turning occasionally, 8 - 24 hours.

  • Fire up the grill. Remove meat from the marinade and pat it dry. Grill the meat 4 minutes on each sides for medium-rare.

  • Let steak sit 5 minutes before slicing into 1/4 inch strips, across the grain
